Chances are you’ve seen our advertising billboards throughout the province. Or visited our new homes in neighbourhoods in Nova Scotia. Or you know someone who lives in a Scotian home. That would not be surprising since Scotian Homes have been building for over 50 years.

Bob Bona founded Scotian Homes from the business base of Enfield Hardware. An entrepreneur, his vision guided Scotian for decades. His vision was simple and straightforward: build superior quality homes to suit Nova Scotians’ lifestyles. Today, a second generation Bona, Suzanne, is managing the company. Although times have changed, the vision remains steadfast.

In 1995, Scotian Homes were selected to build Canada’s demonstration homes for the G-7 Summit and duly recognized by the Canadian Home Builders Association. Since then, more honours have followed ... Builder of the Year 2008, Most Energy Efficient Home built 2008; Canada's R-2000 Builder of the Year 2007, Builder of the Year 2005; Entrepreneur of the Year; Renovator of the Year ... but what we’re most proud of are letters from our satisfied customers. In fact, we won national recognition for our high energy R-2000 housing, when we were named Canada's R-2000 Builder of the Year 2007 and R-2000 Builder of the Decade in 1996.
